MUELLER HINTON by Bioprepare is a medium for the antimicrobial susceptibility test to antibiotics by the diffusion method. This medium, used in the Bauer and Kirby technique, has been adopted by the National Committee on Clinical Laboratory Standards (NCCLS) in the USA as the definitive method for susceptibility testing. The medium has a very low thymine and thymidine content, making it a suitable test for trimethoprim and sulfonamide, controlled to ensure correct band sizes with aminoglycoside and tetracyline antibiotics. The package includes 10 pieces of 90mm and is foliated at 6-12?C.
